Suzy Smola is a Registered Yoga Teacher, RYT200, who has practiced yoga for over 10 years. During that time, she decided to share her love of yoga with people who may not realize that anyone with a spine can benefit from a yoga practice and that flexibility is not a requirement. To that end, Suzy attended Om Yoga Journey (Registered Yoga School) under the direction of owner Arpita Shah, E-RYT 500 and NAMA certified Ayurveda Practitioner who trained under preeminent yoga teacher, Rod Stryker.
Suzy currently teaches in a variety of venues such as gyms, churches, dance studios and apartment complexes. Additionally, she holds an M.B.A. and a B.B.A. from UNT. Suzy is also an Advanced Toastmaster Silver. An experienced professional in the Human Resources field (PHR), she is adept in teaching in corporate settings as well as private yoga sessions. Suzy has also directed a corporate fitness center. When she is not on her mat, you’ll find her spending time with her family and rescue dog, dancing and filling her spirit with the Lord.
Suzy’s yoga classes at Fitness 2000 include Yoga + Abs, Power Flow and Power Vinyasa. “I love the yogis at Fitness 2000! Whether it’s their very first yoga class or they’ve been practicing for years; they bring a willingness to try new things, have fun, and don’t take themselves too seriously.” Suzy’s students appreciate the time she takes to explain poses and help them with their form.
